I have taken four seperate flights with Singapore airlines and all of them could not be faulted. They are efficient and quick and all the procedures are done with minimum of fuss. The cabin staff are lovely, polite and welcoming. There is free champagne, wine and beer in economy class - free flowing. They come round with drinks much more often than other airlines i have flown with and the on board entertainment is great too. I took two short flights of one hour, where there was no entertainment but they managed to fit in serving you peanuts, a drink and then breakfast, as well as a hot flannel before take off to freshen up with. They work so quickly that while serving lunch seems to take BA most of the afternoon with big trolleys blocking the aisles, Singapore airlines managed to complete this task in just a few minutes. They seem to have more cabin staff on board than other airlines which probably has something to do with it.

On the two long haul flights i took, again everything was faultless. And in these aeroplanes there are seat back tv's with a choice of nintendo games, movies and comedy programmes to keep you entertained.

The food is above average in airline standards, but for the western traveller the food may be not what you are used to. Prawns, eggs and potatoes did not get my vote for a good thing to have for breakfast, and they seem to like to serve at least one option of curry per meal, which is ok if you like curry. Still the accompaniements such as fruit, rolls, cheese and biscuits are enough to keep you going if you really can't stand the food.

The legroom space in economy seems to be a few inches roomier than most airlines and perhaps even roomier than virgin atlantic which seems to offer more space than average. They even give you pull down footrests in economy and shaped headrests which all add to the comfort.

Defininitly a great airline to choose for longhaul flights.
