Clarke Quay is one of the most popular riverside haunts in Singapore and it is not hard to fathom out why. It features five blocks of restored warehouses and is home to hip entertainment -Singapore style- a Sunday flea market, eateries, and a wide mix of shops. The Sunday Flea Market is a big fun event with street musicians, baloon sculpturing, face and henna painting and more than 100 stalls selling a wide array of antiques, arts and crafts, and other odds and ends.If you cant make it on a Sunday dont worry at other days of the week you will little shops selling second hand goods, antiques, silk wear, and accessories. Other attractions include the Clarke Quay Satay Club which specialises in mouth watering satay and barbecued seafood. At night time, theme pubs and bars are there for your entertainment. This is just about the best spot on the Island Republic for you to hear classic rock, hard rock, the blues and evergreen's from the 50's and 60's. For a unusual experience you can hire a rickshaw for a ride through the streets of Clarke Quay. The easiest way of getting there from Orchard Road or the main tourist belt is to take a taxi-you could also opt for a river taxi ride from Raffles Place.
