Animals at night.
Review of Singapore Night Safari by Gwenllian

Advantages: Unusual, interesting, cheap.
Disadvantages: The animal shows. Inconsiderate humans using the flash on their cameras.

How many times have you gone to a zoo and found that most of the animals are asleep because they're nocturnal? If you've ever wondered what the animals get up to when it gets dark that head to Singapore's Night Safari. Located next to Singapore's Zoological Gardens the Night Safari is set in 40 hectares of wilderness and it's fantastic. The safari has so many different species - lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, giraffes, tigers, otters, wolves, ...
...are roughly £6 for adults and £3.50 for children. For about £1.70 extra you can take a tram ride around the zoo which I highly recommend. It opens at 7:30 pm and closes at midnight every day. I went there on Christmas Day 2004 after spending the day at the the zoo. I went in as soon as it opened and the queues weren't too bad. I started off with the tram ride around the safari where you get a feel for the lay-out of the place and a guide points out ... Read review

Going down to the "Godowns"?
Review of Clarke Quay (Singapore) by tigswade

Advantages: Pleasant surroundings, good food, central location
Disadvantages: Not exactly authentic Singapore

...last visit in the 1980s. Clarke Quay, quite simply, is an area which is almost unrecognisable these days. Named after Andrew Clarke, the second governor of Singapore, and sometime governor of The Straits Settlements in the late 19th century, it was once, along with nearby Boat Quay, the epicentre of Singapore's world of commerce. River trade moved out of town a long time ago, however, and the area, much polluted by the late 20th century, underwent ...
...(warehouses) have been renovated and Clarke Quay is now a leisure based complex. Aesthetically it's a pleasing environment, although hardly "authentic Singapore". Its London equivalent would probably be St Katherine's Dock - reminiscent of days gone by but very much a development for the tourists. There's contrasting traditional and innovative features: the godowns have been preserved, although painted in a myriad of colours, and giant translucent ... Read review

MAGICAL SENTOSA
Review of Sentosa Island (Singapore) by elspeth334

Advantages: Lots to Do and See
Disadvantages: All the little cover charges mount up

...always make time to visit Sentosa and I would like to share with you why. How to get there Sentosa is approximately 15 minutes away from the city and 25 minutes from Changi International Airport. There are five different ways to get there 1 ---- Walk in via the Causeway bridge this costs 6S$ for adults and 4S$ for children. 2 --- By bus from the ticketing arrivals centre this costs 7S$ for adults and 5S$ for children 3 --- By Ferry from the ...

Singapore Orchard Road
Review of Orchard Rd (Singapore) by speedwing

Advantages: Clean, smart, everything works
Disadvantages: Strict, souless, unfriendly, not a place for bargain hunters

Orchard Road is the Oxford Street of Singapore. This is where you will find all the shopping mall and most of the popular departmental stores. The whole length of Orchard Road is approximately 1 km from end to end. The more popular places along Orchard Road are Takashimaya, Paragon, Tang's, Far East and a few smaller shopping malls. Shopping along Orchard Road is expensive. There are hardly any bargains to be found. Food from foodcourts is relatively ...
...Like most parts of Singapore, Orchard Road is very clean and neat. It is a souless place and very unfriendly. Unlike other cities around the world, Orchard Road in Singapore lacks colour, "vibrations" and fun. One gets the feeling that "big brother" is watching you all the time. Very strict and be very careful you do not drop any litters. One day is all you need to do all there is to do in Orchard Road. ... Read review

come shopping with me!
Review of General: Singapore by tazzywazzy

Advantages: so many shops
Disadvantages: so little time

Ahh, my main loves in live, alca-mar-ol, fodder….then SHOPPING and Singapore is my most favourite place to shop in the world (but Manila is hot on it's tail!). The two main shopping strips in Singapore are Scotts Road; these are pretty much our equivalent of say Oxford Street & Bond Street. Scotts Road and Orchard Road pretty much sit in a t-shape & whilst staying in Singapore, most visitors will probably stay in this area, which is about half an ...
...to walk you up Scotts Road, at the top you will hit Orchard Road, and we will go left, up Orchard, towards Somerset and also right down Orchard, towards Tanglin - I may write other reviews on other shopping hotspots so look out! My only shopping tip for you is please, please, please try and dress like a local otherwise you will be completely taken for a mug - the mentality out there is tourists have money to spend and are stoopid! Singapore is a ... Read review
