A VERY GRAND HYATT! Advantages: Excellent location/Great Facilities/Very clean Disadvantages: Grand Club staff a bit serious Background = The Grand Hyatt is situated on Scotts Road. For those of you unfamiliar to SIngapore, this is in the prime zone for shopping. The main shopping street is called Orchard Road and Scotts Road intersects it. Both streets are bustling with people night and day and definitely the busiest place in Singapore. Taxis are usually available outside and the concierge will call one for you if there is a shortage. Show Me the Light Advantages: Well –located, friendly and efficient staff, well-appointed rooms Disadvantages: Dark, lounge/bar area unsuitable for recreational gatherings The Meritus Negara is a stone’s throw from bustling Orchard Road where you can buy anything you could possibly think of. The hotel’s central location also means that it is close to the MRT underground stations and bus stops. Miramar Singapore - Think again - appalling attitudes! Advantages: None Disadvantages: Very dissappointed We arrived at The Miramar at 23:00 on our way back to London from Australia. We had pre booked a room for two adults and one seven year old child. Upon arrival we were given a small double to sleep in. The manager was extremely unhelpful and nothing at all would be done without a charge regardless of the fact that our booking displayed our requirements clearly that a roll out bed was required for our son. The tallest and one of the best Advantages: Rooms are spacious, Shopping mall in the hotel, Taxi availability Disadvantages: Check in takes too much time The Swissotel The Stamford hotel in Singapore is the tallest hotel in South East Asia. There are over a 1000 rooms in the hotel. The amenities the hotel offers are quite good. The rooms are spacious and the view from the higher rooms are really amazing. One can either see the other skyscrapers in the city or the harbour from the higher rooms. The restaurants offer good food.
