We stayed at the Shangri La hotel for 3 nights in March 2006. I travelled in a party of 5 adults and we shared 2 rooms. We stopped over on our way to Australia as part of a 2 month holiday and we all agreed this was the nicest hotel we stayed in. The hotel was beautiful, set in gardens and has a very grand appearance, with a really nice reception area and bar, and you would expect in Singapore it is very clean. The restaurants in the hotel were mixed, we went to the Chinese restaurant on the first night which was nice, but the other restaurants are mainly seafood so the reception staff were really helpful and recommended restaurants and booked taxis for us. The Meritus Negara is a stone’s throw from bustling Orchard Road where you can buy anything you could possibly think of. I stayed at the Rendezvous this year in May for one week. Our room was a superior room which was well furnished, with a spacious en suite bathroom, mini bar, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, in room safe, free tea making facilities, satellite tv, and internet facilities. The swimming pool and jacuzzi is situated in the middle of the hotel outside and is surrounded by 4 walls of the hotel. The gym is spacious with all the latest gym equipment. As ...

Located within the hotel's surrounding courtyard is various shops and outlets selling all types of food from sushi to italian. Stayed here in March 08 and April 06. The hotel is in a good position just off Orchard Road. However, don't expect any great views as it has buildings on three sides and a freeway on the other. Bathrobes and slippers were provided and a good selection of toiletries including razor and toothbrush. There was a safe in the room and fridge. Ice is available on a couple of floors. ...mean to stay in a Hotel 81 hotel. I was planning to be in transit through Singapore at my own expense for a day or so.I tried three four-star special offers.The first two came back after about 12 hrs to inform me that their hotel was full on the dates in question. The third hotel was also full but offered me a hotel, Hotel 81 Geyland on Lorong 20, which they recommended for a cost of about £20 per night. Time was a bit tight ,but the photo looked ...
...in the year. This hotel is not for seekers of de-luxe accommodation. The rooms are completely basic and quite small. My room had an air-conditioner (which did not cost extra to use), a small bathroom with toilet and shower and a welcome bag with toothbrush and paste etc in it.
