After visiting Orlando 5 times, i finally stumbled upon the Sizzler. I had never eaten there before, but then found myself there every night for a whole two weeks!
There is a fair selection of food available, but as the sizzler is a steak house, most of the food consists of portions of meat. There is not alot of choice for vegetarians, but you can get a cheeseburger. The all you can eat buffet mainly consists of fruit and vegetables however. There is a seafood section on the menu as well. When you enter the restaurant, you may be faced with a long queue. This is especially apparent at busy times of the year like Christmas. However, due to the quality of the food, it is well worth the wait.
There is a huge selection of steak available on the menu, all at reasonable prices. I can't remember what I had, but it was excellent. This view was mirrored by the opinions of my family.
Included with the meal is an all you can eat buffet. The selection on this buffet is brilliant. They have pasta and sauces, hot vegetables, cold salad and fruit. The buffet also contains a section full of deserts and cake of every kind.
As I mentioned before, we ended up going to the Sizzler nearly every night for two weeks. The waiters soon began to recognise us. The service is absolutely brilliant, the staff are friendly and they do not rush you to finish your meal (although your main course often comes before you've finished your buffet, but you can carry on eating it as a side dish).
All the time we were at the Sizzler, we noticed all kinds of people; families, young couples, groups, old people. They really cater for everyone. The atmosphere is relaxed and the actual restaurant is very clean.
I would highly recommend a visit. The place we went was on International Drive, next to the Quality Inn Plazahotel and nearly opposite Wonderworks (the upside-down house).
The address of the Sizzler we ate at is: 9142 South International Drive Orlando, FL 32819 (407) 351-5369
There is also a restaurant at the north end of International Drive. The address is as follows: 12195 S. Apopka Vineland Orlando, FL 32819 (407) 238-1551
Grrr... the site didn't show the second comment. Maybe add in directions from airport or stations. It's a steak house, but would non meat diets be catered for (if you've a big group, one may go hungry.) FOr example you say in the review "They really cater for everyone" but a vegetarian may be surprised to learn that about a steakhouse without description of alternatives if they exist. You've generally described what they serve.. perhaps a bit more specific.. especially if there's something unusual. Maybe give a solid guide as to price.. certainly sounds like people are going to find it cheap (as compared to a British equivalent) but maybe give typical price for a typical meal. Overall though you did a good job and I hope I've given some areas for thought (though I'm far from a good restaurant critic..lol) Pete
