City Hotel Bratislava
Review of City Hotel, Bratislava by maggiedip

Advantages: Reasonably priced, clean, modern
Disadvantages: Not in the city centre as one might reasonably assume from the name

...It's billed as close to City Centre but this is not strictly true. It is a bus, tram or trolley-bus ride away and will take an average of about 20 minutes to get there. It may save a lot of hassle to take a taxi which at about £5 is a reasonably priced option. The hotel is bright, clean and modern. The room we had was a twin superior, non smoking room on 9th floor with a small balcony. We had only paid for a standard room but were upgraded without ... Read review

The Hotel Danube, Bratislava
Review of Hotel Danube, Bratislava by ebidfriend

Advantages: Central to the town and overlooking the Danube.
Disadvantages: A bit expensive. The sauna and pool are closed until december 2007.

The Hotel danube in Bratislava , overlooking the beautiful blue river danube ,or donau, as it is known in Germany. It is spacious and scrupulously clean .The staff are friendly and professional with an excellent command of the English language. It has a swimming pool and gym facilities although these are currently closed for renovation until december 2007. There is an excellent restaurant, conference rooms and they have a massive grand piano in the ...
...provided and there is a safe in each room , also, an essential item, a hair dryer. There is covered parking accessed with a card. It is situated right in the heart of the town which is buzzing with vitality and has an air of euphoria after the years of communist oppression. Bratislava itself is emerging from the shadows like a butterfly from a chrysalis. There are numerous restaurants, shops ,street entertainers, a Slovac national gallery with some ... Read review

Botel Marina 5*service. 2* sized rooms.
Review of Botel Marina, Bratislava by davekaren

Advantages: Novelty value, Food, Staff
Disadvantages: Size of rooms. Access.

I stayed at the Botel Marina for a week in February 2006. It has to be one of the most peculiar (and not just because it was a boat) hotels i have ever stayed in. The hotel itself was approx £50 per night for a twin room. Not the cheapest in town but by no means the most expensive. It is situated directly underneath the castle on the danube, about 2-3mins walk from the edge of the old town. The hotel is decorated immaculately, and very "boat like". ...
...doubles are too). Apparently the botel was once a sea-going vessel as apose to a barge that someone built a hotel on. As such the rooms are boat-cabin sized. 2 single beds on either side of a small gangway, with a very small bathroom (about 1.5metres by 1.5 metres), a wardrobe, tv and phone. Having said this they are designed to make the most of the little space. Pleasant views out of the small windows though - one side views the danube and the new ... Read review

Ibis Bratislava
Review of Ibis Bratislava Centrum, Bratislava by NormanTrapattoni

Advantages: Clean, Location, Price, Staff
Disadvantages: Breakfast not included in price of room

Good location at the edge of Old Town pedestrian area and infront of the beautiful grounds of Bratislava Castle. The staff were helpful and friendly and spoke good English. Not a luxury hotel by any means, but location, cleanliness, more than make up for this. Rooms basic but more than adequate, nice fresh clean bathrooms with good shower. One tip i would give is to avoid the breakfast at the hotel. Theres nothing wrong with it at all, in fact it ...
