The decor was different - upstairs there were 2 neon balconys with a toad in each, one Romeo and the other Juliet. The music was dance but you can't have everything.
Since it became the Toad at The Bullring it has rapidly gone downhill - I think the owner is deliberately ... ...place is like a morgue throughout the week so how do they try to entise customers in? By getting rid of all of the drinks offers that everyone I know went in there for.
The decor is now drab and in disrepair - all of the neon and the Toads have gone. The staff find it painful to smile, the lighting is so dull it feels like midnight at 5pm in August.
The gents toilets are disgusting - no seat, never any toilet roll, the hand dryer doesnt work, never ...

The Slurping Toad situated on the corner of Smallbrook Queensway and Hurst Street is a little gem of a pub situated perfectly in the centre of Birmingham and is ideal for a quiet drink after work during the week or for a pre-club boogie with your mates at the weekend.
There is a healthy selection of real ales, lagers and a decent sized wine list to choose from. A very attratively priced but rather limited menu is also available until 8pm and the ... ...or a romantic liason.
To sum up the Slurping Toad provides a fun and friendly atmosphere in the city centre and appeals to all ages and tastes. Sunday night is very popular with a DJ hitting the decks after 7pm and special offers on selected drinks. Check it out. ...
