As i am travelling for one year my budget for each place i stay is quite small so when i was going to fiji i looked for the best deal i could find and this was booking the smugglers cove resort in nadi through my VIP backpacker card. I boked a private double room with ensuite for my partner and i.
GETTING THERE The resort has a free shuttle bus which will pick you up from nadi airport when you book it will ask you which flight you will be on so the shuttle will be waiting for you. We got the shuttle bus to the resort which is not far from the airport about a 20minute drive. When we arrived we were greated by the very friendly staff and got checked in. When we arrived they did not have any details on our second booking as we booked a dorm room for the first night then a double room for the rest of our stay as we were going away on a tour inbetween. This problem was easily resolved when we emailed them a copy of our booking.
ROOMS The first night we stayed in a dorm room which had 6 beds The room was very spacious and met our needs for our first night. For the rest of our stay we booked a double ensuite room which was also very spacious and had a shower which was nice and powerful. The room had a tv, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, air conditioning, towels and toiletries. The house keeping came round everyday to clean the room and stock up the toilitries. For people on a budget the resort also has a 32 bed dorm which is cheaper. Our room was at the front of the property but you can get a beach view room.
FACILITIES The resort is right at the beach so it is perfect for sun bathing and getting a great sunset view. The resort has a restaurant which provides meals all day also they provide a free breakfast every morning of toast, cereal and fruit juice. During the day there is entertainment such as coconut jewellery making, yoga, fish feeding and coconut crafts and kava ceremony. The resort also has free kayaks which you can use. On a wednesday and sunday evening they have dancing and a fire dancing show which is amazing to see. The resort also has a pool and sun loungers.
RESTAURANT The restaurant at the resort is very good it has a wide range of meals which are all reasonably priced. Also the portions are very good and generous. Some of the meals they had on offer were pizza, curry, pasta dishes, soup, burgers,fish dishes, fruit platter, ice cream and they had a range of drinks from soft drinks to alcoholic cocktails and beers.The service in the restaurant was very good and your meal was very quick to be served to you.
STAFF The staff at the resort are very friendly and are very good at sorting out any problems you may have. The can also help you to book tours and hire cars as they have a travel desk.
OVERALL OPINION I really enjoyed my self at this resort the staff were so friendly and helped to make our stay enjoyable. also the room was very nice and was not as expensive as other resorts. Also the resort had everything you needed as it also had a small shop. The view out at the beach was also amazing at sunset and the fire dancing was the best we had seen. I would definatly recommend this resort to friends and i cant wait to go back there again.
