On a recent work trip to Paris I went to see a variety of hotels - in fact I saw quite a few of the same hotel chains including the Mercure, Novotel and Sofitel and from the Sofitel chain this was one of them; Sofitel Le Faubourg.
The Hotel:
The Sofitel Le Faubourg is a luxury hotel in the heart of the city centre. A four star hotel that has a variety of room types and an elegant style it has a range of amenities to suit every type of holiday maker.
Location:
The Le Faubourg hotel has a brilliant location in terms of how of how central it is to the Champs Elysee and so not far from many of Paris' main sights and also in terms of the fact it is on a road that is not directly open to traffic unless specifically going to a building on the street. So myself and my girlfriend went travelling around the world visiting 29 countries from July to December. We stayed in budget accommodation all around the world, some of it was good enough and the rest well thankfully we survived unscathed. However when we arrived in Sydney things changed. Taxis appeared to be plentiful which can be rare at airports sometimes. The taxi driver instantly offered us two routes to get to the hotel. These choices were simple the cheap slow option or the expensive ...

The Sofitel Hotel is operated by the Accor Hotels and is located on 45 West 44TH Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, right in the heart of Midtown, and is the perfect location to explore Manhattan in easy walking distance of Times Square, Grand Central, Fifth Avenue shops, Macy's, Bloomingdales, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, and most of the major attractions!
The hotel is only about three years old and is immaculate inside, with an opulent lobby, including a very comfortable seating area at the entrance to the hotel. The check-in staff are efficient, very polite and courteous, and extremely helpful. The most common phrase to be heard as you wander through the lobby is often 'Bonjour' or 'Bonsoir' a nice touch!
The rooms:
The hotel rooms are quite spacious (not as large as some U.S. cities, but this is New ...

Some notable guests have included Agatha Christie, the Prince of Sweden, Josephine Baker, Omar Sharif, Field Marshall Montgomery, and Mohamed Ali (Cassius Clay). With 83 spacious rooms, including historical suites, the hotel is small and accommodating. It has recently been refurnished and updated, and is a five star hotel. Other facilities include a fitness room with sauna and massage, a bookshop, bank, hairdresser and car rental service, as well as a complete business center.
