We only stayed in a standard room but it was huge!! The best bit about it was the bed. We were seriously jet-lagged for the first 2 days of the trip in LA so sleep was important, and I have to say that the best nights sleep of my life were in that bed. The location of the hotel is not the best, i.e it is not in the middle of all the action, however tl not be a hindrance if you rent a car, and I suggest very strongly that you should rent a car because it is almost impossible to get round LA without it.
We only stayed in a standard room but it was huge!! The best bit about it was the bed. We were seriously jet-lagged for the first 2 days of the trip in LA so sleep was important, and I have to say that the best nights sleep of my life were in that bed. I can't explain it - it was so comfortable and very big, it must have been queen size, I could spread out completely without even touching my hubbie! Definitely well worth the money!
The room had windows from floor-to-ceiling which was lovely, you really got a good view, and it allowed a lot of light in.
Room service was superb and the food fantastic, I had a steak dinner and it was delicious. The room had a TV with movies, a minibar, a large ensuite bathroom, big furniture to sit on and rest your luggage on, a large wardrobe and a safety deposit box.
They were the only hotel that we stayed at whilst in the US on our honeymoon (other than the waldorf) who made a fuss about our honeymoon. They sent us a fruit basket, chocolates and water, and a note from the manager. It was very sweet of them.
The hotel itself has very nice decor in the lobby, and the lobby is huge, big enough to hold 3 coaches worth of people I think. The concierge was helpful in helping us find our way to disneyland and gave us a map, and suggested a good time to leave.
The decor when walkking down the corridors to your room was not as nice as the rest of the hotel so don't expect much from that. his wil One recommendation I have is: not to make any calls on the phone in your room, we made several, albeit to a mobile in the UK for an hour or so but it cost £70, if we had bought a phone card, which we did for the remainder of the trip it would have been about £5-£10.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the hotel is perfect for sleeping in and exploring LA, not alot to actually do at the hotel but why would you want to, you have LA to provide the entertainment.
