...The first Sofitel hotel was opened in Strasbourg, France in 1964. Now Sofitel, part of the hotel brand of Accor, has 180 hotels in 53 countries around the world. They employ approximately 12,500 people in different countries around the world. The one that I am going to review is the one in Hurghada, Egypt and it is built on forty hectares in the Arabian desert and has the luxury of its own private beach by the very clear and lively Red Sea. It is 450 kms south of Cairo and 280 kms north of Luxor. It has 312 rooms and four villas and we stayed there for two glorious weeks over the Christmas period of 2004 and we loved it, the staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. We booked to go six months in advance and arranged everything with Portland Direct, who are part of the Thomson holiday giants, and payed for it through...

...I went to Strasbourg, France last year with my year at school. We went for 5 days but we had so much to do so I wish we could of stayed there for much longer.
We went via coach and ferry, the crossing didn't take long but from the south west of england to Strasbourg took and whole 16 and a half hours to get there. When we arrived at Strasbourg, I was amazed with the way the buildings were built and how the city was. I instantly fell in love and knew I'd have so much fun there.
We stayed at a youth hostel which was like a big, big hotel. It was about a 5 minute walk to the centre of Strasbourg. That night, we all walked into strasbourg and as it was still light we were allowed to explore part of the city. It was beautiful and everything there was different to England. There was a massive cathedral in the centre and we watched a french...

...12 times a year, I spend Monday to Thursday in the Alsacian city of Strasbourg, as my main place of work relocates in accordance with Treaty provisions agreed by all the governments of the European Union. Leaving aside the huge waste of resources this entails and the enormous carbon footprint of the whole exercise, it is a chore and a source of great strain for those of us who have to endure it. The hours are long, and since the people one is with in the evening are your work colleagues, you never feel off duty. Additionally, since for 12 weeks of the year the city has a massive influx of people, the availability of hotel rooms is severely tested, and I have tried various options over the years. Most recently, I have been staying at the Ibis Strasbourg Expo Congres in Schiltigheim, which is the subject of this review.

...A superb city that has something for everyone. The most attractive aspect of the city is the tourism. So many different people from different cultures visit Strasbourg every year and add to the already existent culture.
The large number of museums means that no-one goes away with an empty mind. For example, the 'Musée Alsacien' covers the history of life in the region, the characteristics of the region, the crafts and much more.
The city is supported by a mayor who is very ecologically minded and as a result, an electric tram system was setup, running very frequently through the city from a park and ride area.
The city itself is of great beauty, the wonderful medieval cathedral and many interesting monuments. The added charm comes from the quaint cafés and restaurants that line some of the cobbled streets, in between the boutiques...
