1 Let's deal with the location first of all.

We were to land in Finland's Tampere airport - the home of Ryanair flights from Dublin. Our first week was to be spent in the East of Finland, quite close to the Russian border, in Hoilola. Several maps I consulted did not include that metropolis, the nearest habitation of note being Tuupovara, where Finnish rally motoring has its home.
The nearest major centre in which I could locate a hotel chain is in the city of Joensuu, the capital city of the region which has lent its name to the whole area.
Though the area stretches roughly over 1300 km2, it's total population is under 60,000.

Kotka is small sea city in southern Finland.t is located on the coast of the Baltic Sea, the Gulf of Finland, at the estuary of Kymi river. And its only little more than an hour´s drive from Helsinki. Kotka is known by its port, industry and maritime festivals.
And at one time Kotka was my home town. And it still got very special place in my heart!

High standard Hotel Seurahuone is situate middle of city central . Next to beautiful Sibelius Park and very close The Sapokka Water Garden. (This wonderful Garden has won more park awards than any other park in Finland. It has received awards for its environmental structures, illumination and stone construction.) I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights.
LOCATION:
The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal.

Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time ...
