Advantages: Bahai, Carmelite, Cable-Car and more Disadvantages: Not terribly touristy (which could be an advantage), not all that much to see
...is mostly industrial. More recently, the most western part of Haifa (which is the part that faces the Mediterranean ocean) has introduced a slew of fancy hotels and a large shopping complex to boost the tourist and sea bathing crowds. There's a really nice beach-side area which you can walk along, and the beaches themselves are far cleaner and less crowded than in Tel Aviv. From the beach, there is a cable car that takes you all the way up to the top of the Carmel at the Stella Maris Church. This has been recently renovated so it's quite an attraction.
The lowest part of Haifa is known as 'the city'. Due to its business nature, there's not a whole lot one can do there, besides going to the new shopping and hotel area. However, when you enter Haifa from the south, and you wind your way around towards the port, at one point, you'll reach...

Advantages: Beautiful pool areas, dining, service, general look of the hotel. LUXURY. Disadvantages: The area is somwhat loud and it's a little too expensive.
...The sol pelicanos is wonderful.
Perfect for families as there is lots to do. The pool area is stunning, it features many pools and a bar. The pool area ia always busy but it's definately the hotel's strong point. There is also a pool especially for the kids. The staff are friendly and english speaking and the hotel in general is beautiful and luxurious. The food is also very nice and Sol Pelicanos provides wonderful gourmet buffets. Entertainment is also available every night.
To stay in Sol Pelicanos it is quite expensive.
However, it is one of the most luxurious hotels in the Levante beach area of Benidorm. It is situated in a fairly busy and loud area, but most of Benidorm is like that. MY advice is to not go to Benidorm if you are looking for culture, it's more for Brits looking for sun sea and sand. It's about 500M from the beach...

Advantages: friendliest people in the world Disadvantages: beach boys hassling you.
...on arrival in the hotel you are treated like royalty and given drinks and as much help as you can take!! the hotel is clean and rooms are not majorly luxuriuos but you have what you need. who spends much time in the hotel room anyway!
when you first arrive there are guards on the gates but you soon realise this is to keep the beach boys out. if you even look over the balcony of the hotel you are being hassled to go and buy things. they are only trying to make a living but can be a bit much.we did go on the beach for a walk and soon learnt that you should take no money and say you have already bought everything and have no money. some of the boys came for a walk with us and showed us alsorts of marine life we would never have known existed if they hadnt pointed it out to us so we bought some name engraved keyrings from him, they start off...
