Sol Palmeras, Varadero

Sol Palmeras, Varadero, Cuba we stayed here christmas 2006 and new year 2007 for two weeks and there were a few little niggles but this didn't stop it being one of our best holidays ever, granted we met some of the nicest people ever, who we still stay in touch with but the staff at the hotel and the hotel itself helped make it so good also. What can I say about this holiday.......... We stayed at the Sol Palmeras and I was expecting a typical Caribbean Holiday - white sands, plam trees, relaxed people, with a truly fantastic hotel! We didn't get this!!!! The hotel rooms were very very basic but clean (thank god for that!), the maids would be working from 6:00 am to 6:00pm and they are extremely noisy! Having a quiet lie down in your room during day time is totally out! The food was quite nice, lots of variation the first week, only to find it was all duplicated the second week!
