On arrival at the hotel , I thought the hotel looked very 70's from the outside, which I suppose it was, inside we were through check-in very swiftly and given our room numbers, they had 4 lifts, which were very tempremental(which could be a problem sometimes as our friends had a 2 year old and we had to carry buggy up 6 flights of stairs a couple of times!).
Our room was at the side of the hotel and had seaview but was also next to the fire- exit stairs so we didn't use the balcony much because of this, plus the birds liked to use it too. (leaving droppings)
This said the room was really big for us( 2 adults and a 12 year old), it had large sitting area with double sofa bed, big wardrobe, desk with draws and tv.
There's a separate double bedroom with wardrobe, drawers, dressing table with phone.
The bathroom was also big, which was a nice suprise as you could actually bath and change in here without difficulty, it consisted of bath with shower( shower gel in a dispenser on the wall), vanity unit with hair-dryer and tiolet.
The rooms didn't have air-conditioning, but the Superior rooms on the top two floors did of course at an extra charge.
I would say the foyer and alot of the hotel needed up-dating but it is quite an old hotel compaired to others around the area.
The foyer was spacious with internet access, off the foyer is a pub but no-one ever went in it that we seen, because this was right next to the restaurant and had no air-conditioning so it was like stepping into a sauna which was a pity because it was set up lovely with leaher armchairs and olde worldy.
The Restaurant was buffet service, with a good variety of food , which I would say catered for all tastes, there is of course going to be busier times so it can get crowded.
On-site activites happening throughout the day,Which kept our son happy. They include table tennis, tennis, mini-football, mini-golf, play-ground and water-polo. There's a kids-club where the reps work really hard!
The pool is a good size and there is also a splash pool for the little ones. There were ample sunbeds and umbrells but as always there is a rush to get them covered by a towel at 5am in the morning( sad people).
Can't say much about night entertainment as we were always out and about.
The hotel is on a hill and a short walk down is all the bars and shops you could hope for along with the beach, which is where we spent most of our time in the evenings,
Ticket touts are a bit of a nuisance but firmly say no Thank-you and they leave you alone after that.
Further along the prom is Playas Americas which is somewhat busier and have more nightclubs. But a nice walk and loads of shops and bars. The beach here is alot nicer than the beaches in Los Cristianos.
Loro Parque is a must if you have children it as Parrot shows, dolphins, seals , penguins oh there's so much I can't remember.
Overall we had a great holiday and would return to this resort again.
Don't go here looking for a 4 * hotel but its a decent 3* and if our son is happy on holidays, we are and he was.

Hotel Sol Princesa Dacil ***
Los Cristianos Tenerife
Just returned from a week’s stay at the hotel and can happily say that this was an excellent holiday, I flew over with my friend from Manchester with Thomas Cook, a flight which took about 4 hrs 20 mins and then only a short transfer from the airport to the hotel of about 20 minutes. I could not fault the holiday and although this is only a 3 star hotel in my opinion it should be upgraded, I ... ...the package holiday price so it is worth researching, Thomson usually offer the best prices to the property through there own winter sun brochure (oct-apr) or there Value (Skytours) brochure which runs throughout the summer.
I am sure you will have a fantastic time at the Sol Princesa Dacil! ...
