Serious pop

Advantages: Not a flat track
Disadvantages: Catchy as hell?

Well cool! I actually didn't warm to this in the beginning and was pretty disappointed. You see, I had seen Sondre play live twice. The energy didn't match up for me initially, but then I realised one day what a great album this really is. I mean the production is so stylish, and Sondre is ubber talented. He really is. Opener "Love You" is an old style jazz instrumental, which is nice and short with an indie twist. This leads into to the ever building "Track You Down" which is delicate and rocky in places. The song has nice acoustic guitar and is a sad lament to lost love. Sondre is sincere in his singing as he is with his words; 'We often joke it's over but it's never enough I take it you are afraid afraid of everything I am and of some things I am not A fear I share before I go to bed' "On The Tower" is undeniably ...

GREENLAND

Advantages: Wonderment
Disadvantages: None

This year we cruised to Greenland via the Faroes and Iceland and back to Scotland stopping on the north side of Iceland and then the Orkneys. You may say WHY? Iceland was pretty much as you would expect, you know geysers, whales, dolphins, puffins (strange, strange birds whose wings are not very efficient) and a lot of tourist type stuff, but Greenland was magnificent. Great snow topped mountains fall straight into a blue, blue unpolluted sea, and occasionally there are tiny wee inlets with two or three houses, painted such bright colours, only accessible by sea. A sea, littered with icebergs that have broken off the enormous glaciers,that slide gracefully into the sea.
