The Sotiris Taverna is right on the beach in lovely resort of Golden Beach on the island of Thassos. It is at the far end of the resort going towards the Fisherman's Village.This is our favourite restaurant in the area. We were given a complimentary glass of Ouzo as we ordered which was a nice touch.The authentic Greek food is superbly cooked and we thought it was cheap and excellent value.We had both fish and meat and could not fault either. It had a touch of the "Shirley Valentines" about it as the scenery was close to that in the film. It was certainly a romantic setting. The service was first rate and a numbers of the locals dined here which is always a good sign. It certainly is not aimed specifically at the tourist market. Often it is case of food, cost or location. In this case it was all three which hit the right spot.. Do not miss eating at the Sotoris Taverna if you are staying in either the resorts of Golden Beach or Skala Potamis. Very highly recommended. the only very minor negative was the toilets which are very basic.
