A good day out

Advantages Kids liked it
Disadvantages needs a good clean up
Just before the school holidays I decided to take the kids to Scarborough as a treat for the day. Walking all the way up the promenade you can see the beach, but we did not go onto it until later on as the kids seemed more interested in spending money in the arcades first.
When we decided to go onto the beach we entered it from the top end of the promenade just near all the rides where we had just been on. To get onto the beach there is a small white ramp, although it is just stones built in, and it is quite bumpy. As soon as the kids hit the sand they ran off to the sea, leaving me to sit down in the sand. Now the hard thing was to find a place in the sand to sit down that was quite smooth, most places towards the back of the beach were all covered in
stone, cigarette ends and rubbish. I must say that this is not one of the best beaches I have ever been on, and I just could not lay down on the sand at all, it felt too dirty to me to be able to relax.
I can not say I would not recommend as I say the kids seem to enjoy it, but it would be no good for sun bathing or for building sand castles but for a bit of paddling I would say its good and for a little bit of a sit down, but I think with a bit of a clean up the beach would be a lot better, as at the moment you need to find a clean spot that is good to sit in.
