Has anyone seen my suitcase.....
Review of Incheon International Airport, Seoul (ICN) by wifebird

Advantages: Well signposted in Korean and English, a good sized airport
Disadvantages: A very long 36 kilometres from Seoul, with little convenient public transport

*****HISTORY****** The award winning Incheon International Airport, situated on Yeongjong Island to the west of Seoul, is the airport you are most likely to fly into when you are visiting South Korea. Although some of the airport is, to a great extent, a work in progress, the main passenger terminal is fully operational, and has been since 2001 and serves well over 50 international airlines, connecting the far flung corners of the globe. *****FACILITIES******* ...
...the form of The Incheon International Airport Railroad. Unfortunately that was no good for me in May 2006 which meant I was at the mercy of the other options. You could get the free shuttle bus ( if you can catch one of the ten that run every day) to Airport Town Square, a brand new town a few kilometers from the actual airport consisting of restaurants, shops, hotels and residential accommodation. Or you could get a taxi into Incheon itself. In ... Read review

Disneyland Korean Style
Review of Lotte World, Seoul by oblivionjapan

Advantages: Cheap, Beautiful Indoor Section, Some Good Rides
Disadvantages: Maybe Dangerous, No Good Food, Not Geared up to Western Vistiors

...Metro Line Open 9.30-23.00 Lotte is a major Korean company which has stores, beverage and food businesses and Lotte World combines their central Seoul Department Store with an indoor and outdoor theme park and other facilities such as an ice rink, bowling alley and hotel. It is definitely worth a visit if you have free time in Seoul. I am sure Disney Land/World has better rides but even though Lotte World is a rip-off copy it has a charm all of ...

Experience a little bit of Korea's past!
Review of Korean Folk Village, Seoul by clairewood

Advantages: Good value, many things to see and do
Disadvantages: outside

...on board the bus. Korean bus drivers are known to make sudden swerves and slam on the breaks every few minutes. What to see and do: You must see the Farmer's Dance at the amphitheater. The first performance starts at 11am. There are about 15 performers in traditional costume who dance, play drums and do acrobatics. It's fascinating to watch the guys with the coloured strands of material hanging from their hats. The strands must easily be 5 meters ...
...finished, you can watch the Korean Seesaw performance. It sounds rather dull but it's pretty cool because these guys bounce up and down doing some astonishing moves while 12 foot up in the air. This is only 10 minutes long and then out come the acrobats who do acrobatics on the tightrope. If you miss any of the performances, there is a chance to watch again in the afternoon. Shows start at 3pm. Another must see is the Traditional Wedding that takes ... Read review

A quiet place in central Seoul
Review of Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seoul by clairewood

Advantages: Cheap, Relaxing, Historical
Disadvantages: Outside, so wouldn't be good on a rainy day

...can take the subway to Gyeongbokgung station, line number 3 - orange line and then take exit 5 towards the entrance of the palace. The subway station has some nice murals, a public toilet which would be a good idea to use before wandering around the palace. I don't remember seeing any public toilets once inside the complex. ***Cost*** Adult: 3,000 won (1.50 GBP) Children between 7-18 1,500 won Tours are in English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean. ...
...see the outer wall of Gyeongbokgung Palace. From this viewpoint you will begin to understand the sheer size of the complex. Go through the main entrance. You can choose whether you are a king or servant! The king was the only person to walk on the central path that was slightly raised from the ground, everybody else walked on the side paths. In front of you, you will see Geunjeongjeon - the throne hall. Geunjeongjeon was where the king met his dignitaries. ... Read review

Changdeokgung Palace
Review of Changdeokgung Palace, Seoul by clairewood

Advantages: Guided Tour, Cheap, Pretty
Disadvantages: Not for young children

Changdeokgung Palace is one of the better palaces along with the bigger Gyeongbokgung Palace. It's a shame that you can only see this palace by guided tour, but it's still well worth exploring. There are tours in English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean. The English tour takes place three times a day. I believe adults cost 3,000 won, 1.50 pounds sterling, 3 dollars. Children are half the price of an adult ticket. Remember to wear some good walking ...
...the sake of capturing a good shot. To be honest, once you've seen one palace, they're pretty much all the same. It's probably a good idea just to pick two to see, and in my choice that would be Gyeongbokgung Palace first and then Changdeokgung Palace. ... Read review
