South Seas Hotel, Miami Beach

We stayed in the South Seas hotel in August 2005.
During outr stay in Miami the MTV Awards with being held in the area and the hotel next door had been turned into Hotel MTV. This was amazing as there were many acts on at the pool parties and several celebrations going on that we could join in on.

A large set back during our stay at the South Seas was the Hurricane Catrina which hit the area. This is obviously not the hotels ...

A large set back during our stay at the South Seas was the Hurricane Catrina which hit the area. This is obviously not the hotels fault but the bar and the restaurant where both closed down whilst we were there, very unhelpful.

The restaurants in Miami are lovely, I recommend that you never eat in the hotels. As there is a great selection of places to eat, and lovely walks along these streets.

The south seas is right on the beach, if you walk through the pool area there is a hammock area amongst the palm trees (which is beautiful) and then the beach hits you... lovely! A walk along Miami beach is also recommended!

The pool area offers a towel service, so dont bother taking your own towels as you're wasting space in your case.

If you do have a car, there are also many shopping malls in the surrounding area, about a 30minute drive, and these are recommended, especially if the weather is not good!
