I’ve always said that its not the Train Company’s fault that trains don’t run on time, but I’m sorry I was wrong!
You really do have to sit back and wonder how Mr Branson made all of his millions when he seemingly can get a train from point A to point B in an allotted period of time. If the fact that they are never on time, (I once had to wait for almost three hours for a train, and when I boarded the train finally I was not ever give a sorry as compensation), now I have to sit here and wait for another hour and a half because the train that I should be on and have travelled on, on numerous occasions does not seem to be running!
It’s not as if I’m a train novice as I do travel on them around three times a week but it just winds me up that you never seem to know about changes until after they have happened. The staff at stations however I have up most respect for as I expect they have to deal with irate customers like me day in day out. It does however seem to me that they sometimes know less than we do! Only last week I was informed that the train that I wanted did not run, and never had done, even though I had used it every week for the last two months!
If the train bosses cant pull their fingers out of their butts and stop picking up hundreds of thousands of pounds a year in salary for playing golf three times a week and not a lot else, then I suggest that Mr Blair nationalises them, and hopefully things might get a bit better.
