Well what a joy its was to take to the railways again today.
Thank you Mrs. Thatcher for privatising our beloved railway system, which has brought the consumers' friend (competition!, silly) to our formerly bedragled national railways. Under the new system, I can choose between South West Trains and Stagecoach (aka South West Trains) - oh, well never mind.
Whilst it sticks in my throat to line the nasty little bigot Brain Souter's pockets with even a penny, there was little other way to get to London today without the train.
Overcrowded, cold and extraordinarily expensive (£47 for a day return from Southampton to Waterloo - I could drive there and back three times for that much!). At least it was only a few minutes late.
Well, I should be thankful I made it home in one piece. I am so grateful to Souter and Thatcher for their help.

statistically you are ten times more likey to be killed on the roads than the rails so I know which is safer and it ain't the roads-Lee

Coming from Basingstoke I have to occasionally use the same line, you're right Southwest Trains are a nightmare. Stick to the M3, at least you are in control of your own destiny in your car.
