Every day of my working life I end up having to get a South West trainstrain from either Clapham Junction or Wimbledon to Kingston Upon Thames. Why oh why is it that the day I am running early the trains arrive on time and that when I am running late it is almost guaranteed that the train will either be 10 or more minutes late or cancelled completely?
This morning the train was in desperate need of cleaning; there were newspapers strewn throughout the carriage I was in, a used condom under the seat opposite me and a pile of vomit right by the door so you could hardly avoid stepping in it when entering or leaving the train.
I cant comment on the services to other destinations because I only go as far as Kingston but South West trains operate the lines from Waterloo to such destinations as Portsmouth Harbour, Shepperton, Richmond Upon Thames, Esher and Guildford.
I find the station staff at Wimbledon and Kingston very unfriendly and incompetent. A couple of weeks ago the platform announcer announced that the train drawing into the platform was for Dorking so none of the passengers wanting Kingston got on. As the train drew out of the station we were shocked to discover that the destination of the train had in fact been Shepperton via Kingston. As you can imagine there were loads of angry commuters. When one of the customers asked the announcer why he had wrongly announced the destination he kissed his teeth in a very disdainful way.
Unless South West trains take huge steps to improving their service I will be looking at alternative ways of getting to work.

One of the guys at work uses this very same service as you and gets into work so bloody stressed out. I really do feel for people who have to commute. It sucks. And you have to pay a fortune for it. Where`s the justice in that.
SW Trains have a lot to answer too.

i know a total of 5 people who have to regularly catch these thrains from clapham junction...and they all regail to me very similar stories to you..all with distain that they have no real alternative ,especially now with the added traffic tax!!

I am in the north west, well liverpool, and here we have MerseyRail, i wouldnt say much for the rickety trains but most of the time they get you where u want to go on time, much better than the buses run by arriva. Jimmy:)
