We returned from Pontin's in Southport a few days ago. The apartments are disgusting. There was mould on some of the walls, the sofas were filthy and there was insufficient crockery and cultery in all three appartments.
Some of the evening enterainment was good, although there were not enough seats to go round in the cabaret bars.
There is lots to do for children, including quadbiking, gokarting etc
Southport itself is a lovely place. The shopping is great (check out Tommy Balls shoe shop in Lord Street) and so is the funfair. We found a fantastic restaurant: Ronnies Bistro, Houghton Street. They did a lovely four course Sunday lunch for £6.95. The restaurant is Italian and there was plenty to choose from on the menu. I would recommend Ronnies to anyone. (children are welcome and well catered for)
Helpful rating, I live near Southport and I wudnt fancy staying in Pontins myself! Well said about Tommy Balls, i have worked there for 2 years and its a great place to shop and work, athough our name has Stockmart the shoes are still the same !
