Hotel Platja Park

Advantages: Large and clean
Disadvantages: For the older generation

This was a lovely large and very clean hotel. The room I stayed in had 2 single beds, there was ample room to move around and also space for our golf clubs and baggage. The furnishings were minimul in the room with a dressing table, bedside tables,a chair and a mini bar. There were large built in cupboards for all our clothes. The bathroom was very clean, with a bath and a shower inside the bath.,there was a full length mirror and a hair dryer on the ...
...chairs and looked out onto the swimming pool area .The breakfast was a buffet style and was quite varied between fry ups, cold meat, fruit, cereal, rolls, toast, fruit juice etc. The staff didn't have a good grasp of English. The entertainment at night was an organist with people up slow dancing. It definately wasn't an hotel for people looking for lively nightlife. The pool was a generous size and it had an area for kids to swim. There was also a small ...

dont go!

Advantages: central location
Disadvantages: everything else!

Stayed at the Guitart Central Park for a short 4 day break on 29th Oct. When we arrived we werent given any indication of where anything was (its a huge place). We werent allowed to check in til 2:30pm so arriving at 10:30am in the rain was a real mistake. The indoor pool is NOT open so do not book this hotel if you want this facility. We booked especially for this and were sorely disappointed (especially as it rained every day). We stayed all inclusive, ...
...laughable - honestly 1 guy on a keyboard singing whilst the spanish guests line dance! no facilities included: they want you to pay 15euros per day to use the gym, tennis is extra, snacks are extra etc, ect. We stayed in the economy rooms which were what we expected basic but reasonably clean - absolutely fine although we could hear the neighbour snoring through the wafer thin walls. Lloret itself is lovely, but dont stay here. If you like shopping ...

Very Good Value For Money Lloret De Mar

Advantages: Big pool,Good Drink,nice hotel,pleasant staff,excellent value for money
Disadvantages: Awful Food

...was I had booked the hotel and flights seperate and didn't bother with transfers we just got a taxi from Girona airport to resort, this was easy enough to do but cost 50 euros each way. I found out when we got home I could have booked a transfer both ways for about £25 so could have saved quite a bit of money there. The hotel itself is quite nice it has a big pool, a smoking bar and non-smoking bar, arcade, resturaunt, shop and the rooms were quite ...
...for your food as the hotel food is not good enough. The hotel is well looked after and very clean we saw a young boy throw up in reception as we were waiting to check in and within seconds staff were cleaning it up and the rooms and public areas were very clean also. The room was cleaned daily and bed linen changed which isn't always the case in these cheap hotels. The main bar was non-smoking which my wife and I found very nice as neither of us ...

A Palatial Hotel fit for a Queen

Advantages: A wonderfully characteristic hotel
Disadvantages: None

...very easy to find. The Alcazar de la Reina Hotel is situated in the heart of the old town. It's not hard to find as it's more than adequately signposted, but it's still a bit of an ordeal driving to it. The old town was not designed with the automobile in mind (in fact I doubt whether the wheel was even invented when much of this place was built!) and you must negotiate a torturous and convoluted route through the incredibly narrow streets and lanes ...
...be quite hair-raising - I don't have much hair so I was alright. When we eventually cleared the claustrophobic streets, we found ourselves at one of the highest points of the town with a car-park and small mirador at one side, and a magnificent, restored former palace at the other. Surely this impressive building couldn't be our hotel? A quick double-take confirmed that indeed it was. Although it dates from the 17th century, the building was totally ...

clean and friendly

Advantages: clean, friendly, beautiful views, plenty to do,good value for money, great food
Disadvantages: being away from main resort but only about 1 mile

we had a very pleasant holiday two weeks halfboard, staff were friendly and helpful, food and drink very good ,sometimes had to wait to be served at bar after dinner though. Entertainment was good ,especially kids disco about 8.00pm every night. The animacion team were very good with varied activities throughout the day- prizes given out at night. You are not badgered into participating like some hotels. Very quiet hotel with nice outlook. There ...
...About 1 mile walk to nearest good beach at playa limones where there is also a good but small selection of restaurants. Taxi fare from airport roughly 50 euros. Also about 7 euros to rubicon marina well worth a visit, market here wednesdays and saturdays- good bargains. Overall very happy with our stay will return. This was our 3rd stay here and if we had to say one thing that impressed us more than anything else it would have to be the excellent ...
