Our plane an Airbus 320 was due in at 18.30 and was 10 minutes late, although this made no difference to the turn around and we left on time.

Next was the main meal. I used to work for a firm at Gatwick, who catered many of the big named airlines, so I am well aware of the quality of food served on board. However the meal we received was absolutely lovely. The starter wasn’t brilliant, but the main meal of chicken, peas, ... more

The smiling Spanair crew welcomed us on board. After a nice smooth take off the drinks service was done. We did have to pay for drinks although water was complimentary and a free bag of salted nuts was given if you had a drink.
Next was the main meal. I used to work for a firm at Gatwick, who catered many of the big named airlines, so I am well aware of the quality of food served on board. However the meal we received was absolutely lovely. The starter wasn’t brilliant, but the main meal of chicken, peas, carrots & diced potatoes was delicious and there was a nice fresh roll, the chocolate cake was yummy and the cheese (Laughing cow) and biscuits finished the meal off nicely. I must say their tea was not the best, but we were sitting in row 6 so was one of the first to have it and maybe it was not fully brewed. We were in row 15 for our return flight and the tea was fine then.
There is no Duty free service on the out bound flight although I have no idea why.
You can purchase headphones to listen to the film or ‘different styles of music’ (their words not mine), the cost was 2 Euro or £1.50. I got the feeling that the h/phones were yours to keep, but I can’t be sure.
The flight arrived on time and the landing was smooth.
The return flight was just as good, with a couple of the same crew. The meal again was chicken in a sauce which was different to the o/b flight and again was delicious. The starter this time was rice with peas & sweetcorn and the pudding was a type of black forest chocolate cake and was nicer than the o/b one. We had 2 fresh bread rolls this time and again cheese and biscuits.
I did intend on purchasing a travel clock from the onboard shop, but they had to stop the service for ‘security reasons’ so I missed out. We were late leaving Palma airport, but landed on time so I suspect they ran out of time and could not service the whole plane with their wares.
I only have short legs, but the leg room seemed fine for both myself and my husband, so no complaints there. there were 3 toilets onboard, one to the front and 2 to the rear, as neither of us needed the loo, I can't comment on them but I suspect they are much the same as all airplane toilets.
Another smooth landing finished our holiday and flight with Spanair. I would definitely fly with them again, I have found the foreign airlines are usually better than the British ones on the whole, oh and the inflight meal was included in the cost of the holiday.
TERRIBLE!!! We were flying from Frankfurt to Barcelona then to Menorca. Our luggage was lost and we immediately took the claim up with customer service and they assured us that the luggage would be in on the next flight and delivered within 5 hours. This was a short stay of only five days, so we were thrilled that our items would be there soon. Our luggage didn't show up until day 4!!! We played cat and mouse with these people our entire vacation. ... ...on time and had been sitting at the airport, but was never delivered to us, despite our CONSTANT phone calls. Because we had no toiletries, not bathing suits, and only one pair of clothing, they assured us that whatever money we spent on these items, they would fully refund us. This trip was in May of 2008, we still have not received our refund check. I call them nearly everyday and continuously get the same answer from them, it's on the way. I just ...

Advantages: Nice redheads Disadvantages: Didnt fancy me at all
home British Airways even gave us compensation for the fact we were stranded for 3 days in the snow,we didnt chase them for it,they did it out of courtesy. So I have to say I have flown with Airtours,Spanair and a few others but for first class service and consideration and lets say it "BRITISH".It is true,British is best and British Airways are the best not only in the UK but the world.
Thank you for reading and if you are flying anywhere soon, safe flying and take care, as ever your friend online...

Advantages: Great weather, reasonable prices, relaxing Disadvantages: No 'proper' shops
I have just returned from an absolutely fantastic holiday in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria. I would recommend to anyone who wanted a relaxing holiday away.
The four hour flight with Spanair was pleasant with a meal and film. Staff were friendly.
The island is small and so the transfers are reasonably quick to all the hotels.
We stayed in the Porlomar Apartments, 2 star, but probably better than anywhere more expensive. A lovely pool, the staff were great, and the rooms were basic but extremely clean with a cleaner EVERY day! They are on a hillside looking over the harbour which is lovely. A reasonable bar and food prices.
Everywhere in the town has reasonable cheap drink and food prices, and the beach is lovely although during the day is known as 'sardine beach' due to the masses of people.
It is so hot so make sure you ...
Advantages: top quality planes, nice staff Disadvantages: none really
i was slightly sceptical when arriving at gatwick for a flight with this company to buenos aires. when we were put on a spanair plane to madrid i was even more so! this was fine though and from madrid the aerolineas argentinas journey was outstandingly simple and easy.
the aerolineas argentinas planes were top notch - we went with them on 3 journies in all and despite the huge distances travelled we were never a minute late throughout.
the planes are well fitted out, with good entertainment and friendly cabin crew. drinks are available as and when you want them and people we spoke to over there who came with other companies said they wished they also took this option rather than flying via USA.
i would not hesitate to fly with them again and some of our airlines could learn a few lessons....! ...
