Fihalhohi Island Resort

Advantages: Peace and quiet, relaxing paradise
Disadvantages: None at all

welcome back from all the staff. This time we stayed in an upstairs room, which was just as good as the downstairs room, maybe a little more private on the balcony and slightly more shaded. We have never been to the Maldives in our summer months, but the weather was fantastic, We had a hour or so of light rain first thing in the morning on a couple of days, but very hot and sunny all the other days, with a nice breeze. The service was as great as before and maybe even enjoyed it more this time. We won the Bingo- the prize was a candle lit dinner for two on the beach... it was wonderful. We also visited the Ayurvedic centre this time for a massage, it was very relaxing and well worth the price. This is the only island that we have stayed on twice and to be honest I would certainly visit again. If you are looking for a book on resort ...

Wii Resort For Island Sports

Advantages: Some great mini-games that really show off the MotionPlus accessory
Disadvantages: Expensive to fully kit out two remotes. One or two less compelling mini-games

shown a short cinema sequence during which your character will skydive down to a tropical island resort called Wuhu Island, which is the setting and backdrop for WSR. You are then presented with the main menu screen. WSR consists of twelve sports, ten of which are entirely new. Bowling and Golf make a return appearance from Wii Sports, and are joined by Swordplay, Wakeboarding (water skiing on a surfboard), Frisbee, Archery, Basketball, Table Tennis, Power Cruising (on jet ski), Canoeing, Cycling and Air Sports. Nunchuks are required for Archery, Power Cruising and Cycling. You choose the sport you want from the main menu and then the mode of play (some sports offer more than one mode - more on this later), the number of players, difficulty level and various other options, some of which are only unlocked when you make the relevant progress ...

Meedhupparu: A Pearl of a Resort

Advantages: Stunning beauty, tranquility, dive sites
Disadvantages: Italians on an ice-cream company conference. Err...that's about it.

. However, nearly two years later, still childless and facing the prospect of infertility treatment, we decided to spend the (by now unnecessarily large) baby funds on a holiday to cheer ourselves up. We found a last minute deal online to the four-star Meedhupparu Island Resort for the first two weeks in January 2001. The price was around £800 each for full board, which seemed a real bargain. However, we struggled to find the resort in any of the mainstream brochures (including our carrier - JMC) as it only opened in June 2000, so I guess we took a small gamble. The resort is now carried by major operators including First Choice and Thomson, and a similar fourteen night break with Thomson departing from Gatwick on the 1st Jan 2006 would set you back £1,399 each. Fortunately, we had time to have the recommended vaccinations for Typhoid ...
