Spier Wine Estate, Cape Town

Wow! what a place. This may not be a true reflection of southern Africa but it is a wonderful place to have a romantic evening dining out under a tree. The estate incompasses many things to do. For the family you can spend the day looking around the estate and buy a picnic lunch from their delicatessen to eat in the gardens by the lake. For a couple you can choose between seeing an opera together in the ampitheatre (which my husband helped build) or dining in beautifully romantic setting. It is a wonderful wonderful experience. There are musicians roaming around, face painters (sounds silly but actually fits in). There are also some beautiful things to buy, great reminders of your stay in South Africa. Ostrich leather bags etc.
