Advantages Good quality hotel
Disadvantages Not close to train station
My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights during our visit to Interlaken which was booked through a travel agent. There are two main train stations in Interlaken: Interlaken West and Interlaken East. We arrived at Interlaken West and we had to go to Interlaken East for our Jungfraujoch excursion. The hotel is not particularly close to any of the station but rather locates in the middle between the two stations on the busy boulevard of Hoheweg, so it’s better to catch a bus from either station to get to the hotel. It’s a family run hotel and the decoration inside is not very modern, but still clean and tidy.
When we got into the the room for the first time, we also found a bar of chocolate at the bed side table, a very good gesture from the hotel! The room is spacious and well equipped. We were given a room facing the Hoheweg and a fantastic view of the mountains can be seen from there. On the ground floor of the hotel, you will find the Buddy’s Pub, the first English style public pub in Switzerland serving typical pub meal. Being located at the start of the Hoheweg, it’s close to shops and the famous Schuh restaurant.
Breakfast is served on the first floor with a wide selection of bread loaf and cold cuts. They also provide a boiler where you can make your own boiled eggs. There is also a timer nearby so that you can make it according to your taste, from fully boiled to half boiled. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and it’s a good choice for staying in this beautiful resort.
