These runs are spread across 4 main areas : St. Anton, The Rendl, Zurs and Lech, and are serviced by 81 lifts. St Anton (4,278 - 8,649 feet)
The St Anton ski area is the most easily accessible from the town, from one end by the Nassareinbahn onto the Gampen area, and by the Galzigbahn to the Galzig area. Gampen and Galzig togther make up the St Anton area. The thing that stands out about this area are the lifts. They are fantastic. A product of the 2000 World Championships, the extra money has brought in a fantastic system. Most of the ...

Ski in St Anton - you'll love it
Advantages: Huge ski area - friendly locals - easy to get to Disadvantages: None really
Just got back from St Anton (New Year 2006 - 07) and what a great place to visit. Skiing: Runs are generally for the intermediate and expert skier although there are beginners runs in a few places and a very good ski school. Your electronic lift pass covers all of St Anton plus the nearby resorts of St Christoph, Lech and Zurs. To get to Lech and Zurs you can either get the bus from St Anton or ski to St Christoph and get it from there. If you have ... ...is at the end of St Anton High St and a little quieter. It is a 3 minute walk from a gondola lift and only a 10 minute walk from the main shopping area (which is mosly pedestrianised). Loads of bars and restaurants. Maximillians is excellent and for a traditional fondue go to The Train restaurant. The best pizza we found was the mountain restaurant at the top of the blue No 8 run. The Krazy Kangaroo is probably the liveliest bar around and can be ...

Incredible aki and apres-ski
Advantages: Mooserwirt!, Apres-ski, Atmosphere! Disadvantages: None
Just got back from St Anton last week and what can I say! - It's incredible. An afternoon isn't a proper afternoon without a visit to the Mooserwirt bar/restaurant about a 2 minute ski from the bottom. At about 4:30 they turn up the music and start playing cheesy dance versions of all the classic hits like Do Wah Diddy and Hey Baby. This is tho..the whole thing works. With the drinks flowing at the constant stream of music that anyone can sing-along ... ...skiing side of things st Anton has a lot to offer. There's a vast ski area which operates with a very clever lift pass. You just leave it in your pocket and it reads it as you pass through. Neat huh?! It also gives you access to the resorts of Zurs and Lech which are only a few miles away! ...

A great resort, but not for beginners
Advantages: Good value for money, good nightlife, great runs Disadvantages: We couldn't go down the Championship run
St Anton is enjoying a dose of popularity this year - it has hosted the World Championships and has featured in several newspapers recently. The reputation is deserved - we went there recently and found it excellent. The town itself is lively and infamous for its nightlife (Krazy Kangaruh, Kartouche and others being popular venues, and the scenery and snow is fantastic. Although the ski school is supposedly good, it isn't really a place for beginners, ...
