Great For Concerts
Advantages Great venue for concerts, & very conveniently situated.
Disadvantages Seating can sometimes be a squeeze depending where your sat, & occasionally with a bad view. Check this with the Box Office before you book.
St. Georges Hall is fantastic for concerts. I've been to quite a few there, mainly 'teen bands' such as Steps, A1, Another Level etc. and I think it's fantastic! The venue is quite small, especially compared to the normal venues bands such as these would perform at. Theres no barrier between the seating & stage, so i'ts also very easy to get close.
I've seen various different performances here. I've seen local plays, award ceremony's & kiddies performances. Its a great venue for all events. It's quite an old building, with lovely architecture, which is very pretty. Theres a bar, & the seating is set out with a floor (not very many seats), a lower tier, & upper tier. It's a pretty good view from all places really, but if you get in front of a pillar, or tucked away in a corner it can be bad. They do provide a seating plan on request.
It's in a very convenient position. The main train, bus & coach station is literally across the road, as is the Hilton Hotel. There's also the Quality Victoria Hotel just behind the Hall, & the Midland Hotel is a 10 minute walk. It's right in the centre of town, & overlooks the Town Hall & Centenary Square (an open square where events/celebrations etc are held).
