***Why The St Giles?***
Back in September 2007 my wife and I had decided we would like to go to London for the weekend and at the same time take in a show. After further investigation, we also realised that The Terracotta Army was on show at The British Museum and a Tutankhamun exhibition at the 02 Arena so we wanted a hotel that was adjacent to most things on our to do list, close access to Euston as well as having easy access to the tube. We chose ... ...google search we did, had some decent reviews, offered an all in one price for the hotel and a show and was in a fabulous location. ***Location***
They say the three most important things for a hotel is location, location, location but I feel that location is relative. After all, an establishment cannot be located everywhere but the St Giles succeeds in being as good a location for a hotel as any I have ever been to. The location is without a doubt ...

We stayed here for the weekend and the room is only good if you bring a carrier bag as luggage.
No storage space for clothes or suitcases so room soon became cramped. My room looked like Harrods after the Christmas sale!
If you are Gay, this hotel is close to G-A-Y Astoria (we saw Jason Donovan!) and the bars of SOHO. Also, about 2 minutes walk from the wrong end of Oxford Street.
Staff didn't understand English, took 3 of them before I got a ...

Advantages: Good location, Leffe on tap Disadvantages: Pokey single room, a bit touristy
I'm not sure if I should be writing this review, because it feels as if this hotel, despite it's 600-odd rooms is a little bit of a secret! So please make sure rate this review! The hotel location is just about perfect for exploring the square mile. It is just of Tottenham Court road, and about 20 yards from the top of Oxford Street, giving a 10 minute walk to Soho, Covent Garden and Leicester Square etc. I stayed for 1 night recently and although ... ...My single room was very small, but served its purpose well, even the single bed afforded me a fairly decent night's sleep. The bar was friendly and lively enough to enable a solid dose of people watching. Also the Leffe on tap was the icing on the cake.
If you want luxury with mints on the pillow and a corby trouser press then look elsewhere, but if you want somewhere to get your head down after a night out in the Smoke, then this is as good as ...

Advantages: Location ideal for West End and Shopping Disadvantages: Small rooms. Staff not too friendly, noisy at night.
...my second stsy at the St. Giles Hotel. Both trips for pleasure. I had already read reviews stating that the rooms at the St. Giles were small. Therefore, I knew what to expect. The rooms can feel a little claustrophobic, but there is space to put clothes in built in wardrobes. The bathroom is again extremely small with shower, sink and toilet. The roms are clean and beds freshly laundered daily. (We had a 3 night stay). The hotel does not have alot ... ...the Y.M.C.A., the hotel contains a bar pizzeria and there is a small lounge. The breakfast room is more than adequate as far as seating and cleanliness goes and the self service breakfast is very acceptable with plenty of choice. The times for breakfast take into account very early risers. They start serving at 6.30 a.m. on weekdays. Unfortunately most of the staff are from overseas and communication is sometimes a problem. Also the staff are not ...
