Advantages: Outstanding central performance and great tunes. Disadvantages: The ending doesn't really work.
Transsexuals and cross-dressers?oh, what a jolly bunch of mixed up fellows, always good for a few freakish laughs for the squares. From Danny La Rue, through Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis, right up to Priscilla Queen of the Desert. What could possibly make Hedwig & the Angry Inch any different, a gloriously tacky rock opera featuring an East German shemale in a blonde wig?
How about treating the central character like a real human being, rather than source of a few risqué laughs?
This is what makes John Cameron Mitchell?s Hedwig such a triumph, in such a criminally under-seen movie. I saw the trailer for it a couple of years back before a far inferior movie, and thought, ?Yeah, I?ve got to see that?. Yet despite its critical acclaim and a bucketful of awards, it received virtually zero cinema release here in the UK.

Advantages: Fantastic Musical Numbers Disadvantages: Can take a while to get into the style of story telling
This film combines what should be three very distictive genres and yet combines drag queens, punk music and musical theatre brilliantly. At times hillarious, at times suppremly moving, but always with plenty of punk attitude. The best film addaptation of a broadway show ever. John Cameron Mitchell not only stars as Hedwig but also wrote and directed and it is his uncompromising artistic vision that makes this film the rare treat that it is. The 105 minutes of extra features are well worth a look as well. The making of featurette also shows clips of the orrigional stage show and concept gigs. Also there are options to just play the musical number with kareoke options. This is not a film for the light hearted but if you like to take a walk on the wild side, this is the film for you. ...
Advantages: Nice even colour, can see where it has been applied already Disadvantages: Messy and expensive
*Introduction*
The St Tropez autobronzant is a thick lotion which you apply on your face and body, and then leave to absorb for 4 hours before washing off to reveal your tan. It promises to be 'non-greasy' and 'quick drying' with a 'relaxing aromatic scent'. It comes in one shade only, but you can reapply two nights in a row to deepen the tan. I have really pale skin that doesn't tan at all naturally, so I have to be careful what fake tan I use as I can be left with orange coloured skin!
*Packaging and Price*
The packaging is quite simple and whereas most fake tanning products come in a brown or orange bottle, it is distinctive as it comes in a white bottle with black writing. When buying, look carefully at the bottle to check you have the right product though as the St Tropez body polish comes in a very similar bottle ...
