How we Hamburger wouls say! Yes, I am a real Hamburger boy, and so please excuse me for my not so excellen English!
I want to start my opinion with some facts on the greatest city of the world!:
- 1.8 mil. inhabitans
- 2nd bggest city in Germany
- Best football club of Germany "Hamburger Sport Verein"
- Worst football club of Germany "FC ST.Pauli" ;-)
- and over a hundred sights, which include some of the best of
the world!!
I could write about all these sights, but I want to tell you only something about the best of the bests, because I do not want to write till tomorow!
The most famous sight of Hamburg is doubtless the Reeperbahn or St.Pauli, where the nightlife in the numerous nightclubs("Bordelle") or Discos is the best in whole Germany. You can reach St.Pauli...

Advantages: Tons to do and see! Disadvantages: None really!
...has agreat open air swimming pool that is mainly used only by local Hamburgers so a great way to feel as though you belong in Hamburg. It takes about 40 minutes form the city centre using the green S1 line direction Wedel.
4) The open top tour buses are a great way to see Hamburg and get a real feel for the place and depart frequently outside the Rathaus. You take in all the famous local sights such as the Rathaus, St. Pauli, Altona train, Reeperbahn (red light district...) etc. The 1 hour trip costs approx. 13 Euros.
Most hotels have a great range of leaflets about things to do in Hamburg and hotel staff are always helpful: the opera is very popular here as are musicals (currently showing is the Lion King and Mamma Mia!!)

...is turned into day.' This is in the StPauli area of the city with its renowned red light district. The so-called 'Mile of Sin' has many bars, restaurants, sex cinemas and peep shows. It is also where the Beatles played their first shows abroad on their quest for world stardom. If you don't fancy visiting this area by night then you can have a look during the day as the StadtRundfahrt (City tour) takes you through this district as well as many other places of interest.
Near to the Reeperbahn is the dock area which is a hive of activity. The elegant sandstone building which connects the StPauli landing bridges lines the side of the river.
