Dux De Lux is an ?aquatarian? restaurant/bar complex in Christchurch, New Zealand that offers great food for vegetarians (and pescetarians) at a reasonable price. It is located in the city centre, next to the Arts centre, and is extremely close to the Botanic Gardens. On the two occasions that I have been there, the outside seating has been extremely crowded, with a few spaces inside in the restaurant area. Dux de Lux is a complex that is divided into several parts ? including the restaurant, three bars, and two outside seating areas. This review is about the restaurant.

Food was decent but not exceptional. I ordered several appetizers and both of them were just so so. My friend had the steak and it was just OK also. We did share a nice dessert that was apple based but I cannot remember the name. This restaurant also has an outside seating area that is great to sit at during the warm summer months. The interior atmosphere with all the book shelves around the rooms was great. This place is located on Dommelstraat - a cool street full of other restaurants and bars in the Centrum (or central) part of the city. It is full of young people late at night on the weekends. I would go there again just for a nosh and a beer but I would choose some other items from their menu. ...
Advantages: Always one close by, quick turn out, children are welcome and catered for. Disadvantages: Toilets can be quite disturbing, not all dishes taste as good they are described.
