On this occasion I was left eating my words

Advantages: Conveniently located, Easy to find, pets allowed
Disadvantages: No on site dining facilities or room service

Under normal circumstances, following a few unpleasant experiences, wild horses wouldn't drag me into a Holiday Inn Express (aka Express by Holiday Inn), but I needed somewhere reasonably priced to stay near Staffordshire Country Show Ground that would accept dogs. My former Stafford hideaway, the Tillington Hall won't consider dogs unless they are guide dogs, and all the other 'larger chains' wouldn't either, so it was the HI Express or get up VERY early on the Thursday morning. LOCATION With 103 Guest rooms, it is conveniently situated a couple of hundred yards off Junction 13 of the M6 in Acton Gate, this place is extraordinarily easy to find. In fact, it is so close to the motorway it is commonly known as Express by Holiday Inn, STAFFORD M6, JCT.13. It is an ideal location for visits to Stafford, Alton Towers, Staffordshire ...

Decent hotel in the middle of Stafford

Advantages: Nice rooms, friendly service, good food
Disadvantages: Location might be noisy at the weekend

INTRODUCTION Back in the UK again, I had some training courses to attend and so several of us from work got together to go on one in Staffordshire. Having found this hotel on the net, we all booked into it with eager anticipation of a night out before the course the next day. It wasn't to disappoint; amid all the banter, eating and drinking, I managed to keep my head and so present to you my experience of the hotel. LOCATION This is slap bang in the middle of Stafford town centre and so very handily located. It's only a five or ten minute walk from the train station. I ponced a lift and it wasn't hard to find once we got into the town centre and followed the directions. There are small signs pointing to the hotel which you follow, all the way round a winding road and finally into the hotel car park. THE ROOM ...

Premier Inn, Charing Cross Glasgow

Advantages: Close to town and all amenities
Disadvantages: none

I have never stayed in the Premier Inn before, but I felt I had to share my experience of the past weekend. The staff in both reception and the restaurant were fantastic, they were really helpful and made you feel right at home. The room and bathroom were both spotless, warm and the freeview television meant that my daughter didn't miss her soaps while she was away. The bed was both big and comfortable and we didn't have any trouble getting to sleep. We opted for the breakfast deal and we were not disappointed, the food was well cooked and warm there was also plenty of choice. Access to the hotel was excellent for both able bodied and non-able bodied people, we didn't have a wheelchair but we did have a six month old baby and a pram, and even though it is situated next to Charing Cross rail station we didn't hear a thing from ...
