... Contrary to popular belief I AM back at home – let me clarify that confusion point… Now, with my notes and memories combined we can take a brief tour of the Stamford Plaza Auckland.

The Stamford Name…
Originating from some sailor, this chain of hotels ‘prides itself in offering outstanding service’ etc… just like Skoda. They are a chain of supposed luxury hotels rapidly expanding throughout Australia now with a strong market position in the continent with 14 hotels in Australia and New Zealand.
The 5-star establishments are made out to be very special in ... ...some reason the owner of Stamford made it even though I’d never heard of him.
To Reception…
On the right was the reception desk along with the concierge. I approached that man again and this time he looked up from his ‘phone as he took a reservation. I waited. Another receptionist became available but I stuck with the original.

...complaints, the concierge got it wrong and directed us to the street behind the hotel we are in [StamfordPlaza, Auckland, op on the way], namely Queen’s Street.
But the car-carrier we should have been directed to is actually Commerce Street, but that was all sorted easily as will soon be explained. We are in Auckland’s [Famous??] Market, and that’s where we are stranded, trying to arrive at Kelly T’s.

To be very honest, I would have rather returned to our accommodation in Auckland – the StamfordPlaza – which wasn’t at all bad. Indeed, it was much better value for money than the WA and felt right – not wrong. I wasn’t happy.
The rest of the hotel…
Lets take a quick tour. There are 26 floors in the WA, and some have up to 30 rooms on them. As you go higher, however, the floors get smaller and the rooms bigger, therefore the numbers of rooms on each floor as you go up decreases.
In the lobby...

Booking a hotel in New York can be a somewhat bewildering experience - there is far too much choice! This can be a burden -your choice of hotel can make or break a holiday and with such a wonderful city as New York, it becomes even more important.
We more
Well im back onto the hotel reviews again after a recent visit to Ottawa in Canada. After freezing my buttocks off and nestling into my scarf grabbing my bags and rushing into the hotel I had little chance to look at the exterior of the hotel!
