Advantages: Brilliant place, lots to do Disadvantages: expensive, walking up the hills!
...SanFrancisco is the most amazing place i've ever been to, all the hills, Pier 32, Fishermans wharf. The ques for the trams are well worththe wait for the experience. The Golden Gate is a site not to miss. SanFrancisco has its own climate, completly different to the rest of california. I thought i was back home in england when i felt the weather!
Unfortunately we couldn't get over to alcatraz as all the tickets had sold out. The motels is San Fran are quite expensive, but well worth it. It also well worth battling the winds to go to the pier to see the sealions, and alsoto walk down the curly road, with the gorgeous houses on! There is also Union square for shopping which is brilliant!
A place not to miss!...

Advantages: Too many to mention Disadvantages: Certain areas are definitely 'no go'
...In the words of the song - 'I left my heart in SanFrancisco'
It just happens to be my favourite city in the world, though living in the UK my visits there are sadly limited. A lot has been written about the city, but you really have to see it for yourself to breathe in the atmosphere - Chinatown, the cable cars, Alcatraz etc etc. There are plenty of hotels/motels to suit everyone's wallet, but I would recommend staying in the Union Square vicinity, though understandably, the accomodation is a little more expensive. The benefits are, however, that everything is virtually on your doorstep. Personally, I would not hire a car whilst I am in the city - driving up those hills is an absolute nightmare and you are likely to be 'cut up' by the cable cars. As with any other city, there are 'no go' areas and these should be avoided, particularly...

Advantages: wonder and beauty Disadvantages: so far from the UK
...SanFrancisco is the place I always return to year after year. I have practically abandoned Europe now in favour of this wonderful city. To have a clam chowder sitting in the sun overlooking the Bay at Fishermans Wharf is the best tonic anyone could have. The seals honking down below, the boats bobbing out to Alcatraz, the hills beyond, the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge spanning across the water and the smell of the coffee and sourdough bread. What more could you want? People are so friendly, the food wonderful and varied, accommodation cheap (compared to the UK at least!), and places of interest too numerous to mention all around, easily accessible. The Golden Gate Park, Palace of Fine Arts, crookedest street in the world, you can never be bored in SanFrancisco!...

Joe Satriani is considered by many as one of the greatest guitarists to have ever lived. He manages to combine technical brilliance with melody to produce some excellent and powerful songs. He plays a good rock song too.
