Yellowcard first formed in 2000, they are from Jacksonville, Florida in the US. They come under the genre Pop/Punk. The band is currently on a hiatus.
A little while after releasing The Underdog EP, Yellowcard got signed by Capitol records. Their popularity soared to the top when they released their single Ocean Avenue, a short while after they released another single called Way Away.

Advantages: Some strong tracks present on this thirteen track album. Disadvantages: Some tracks fail to impress.
'Ocean Avenue' is the 2004 album from the American Pop Punk band Yellowcard. Although fitting snugly into the genre of Pop Punk, the band actually incorporate a violin into their sound and this is something that makes them stand out a little from the crowd. When you listen to the music of Yellowcard it is not your standard Pop Punk affair and therefore their music is all the more interesting to listen to.
The first track I ever heard from this album was 'Life of a Salesman', a track that initially put me off listening to 'Ocean Avenue' as I was not at all a fan of what I heard. With 'Life of a Salesman' there is just too much going on within the track at once and as a result it all seems a little congested as the band progress their way through this three minute piece of Pop Punk. The drums just don't seem to fit with the guitars ...

Over the three years of the show's run, everyone I know who has been to see "Avenue Q" has told me that I should go and see it because I would love it. Everyone from best friends to ex-girlfriends were telling me the same thing, so when I got the chance to check it out, I couldn't turn it down. It certainly says something for the show that of the people I went with, four of them had seen it before and were still willing to pay £20 to see it again. It is testament to how well people know me that I not only enjoyed the show, but also would happily pay my £20 and go again.
Surprisingly, for all the hype, the basic idea is a simple one. "Avenue Q" is a snap shot into the lives of a group of 20- and 30-somethings who live on a section of a street called Avenue Q. They have their own struggles, many of them have no money, their jobs ...
