The tube is without a doubt the fastest and simplest mode of transport into the West End. If you're only visiting and don't know the area very well, I would advise you to pick up a tube map from any underground station. It saves you desperately searching for wall maps, only to find a huge crowd of tourists with the same idea, already huddled round the one and only map and totally blocking your view. - The coffee culture has created a frenzy amongst normally sane people who would of got up earlier and made themselves a coffee at home. Instead we troll through heavy morning traffic. Stumble in to Starbucks and ask for a hourly fix latte before going to work. Yep, the coffee culture has taken a grip and it is our wallets and purses that really need the fix.
OxfordStreet is no different to any other caffeine source fixes across all towns and cities.. There people escalator system works well and I can't complain.. and you would if you could if your like me.. while waiting for your morning infusion. Everybody knows Starbucks, the largest coffee house in the world. I am going to review the one in St Katharine's Dock in London as this is my nearest and dearest.
I think Starbucks is rather like marmite, you either love it or you hate it. Some people hate the fact that they have to pay £3 for a cup of coffee, other people can't get enough. I am definitely in the second camp, I am a Starbucks fan. I think what has captured the world is their relationship with coffee, they like to think of their stores as a "third place", ie the third place you go in this world after home and work and I think it is this attitude that produces the friendly asmosphere and sense of belonging that their houses promote.
