Buchanan Galleries

Advantages: Great Place To Shop
Disadvantages: Gets Busy

As you will have become aware from some of my previous reviews I am not really one for trawling the high street looking for clothing items. I prefer the convenience of buying most of my items online, However on occasion we all unfortunately have to do this at some point. I had been invited to a party so thought that it was about time I invested in a new dress!! Well living and working in Glasgow the only place for me to shop has to be the Buchanan Galleries. Fortunately I always go very early in the morning to try and avoid the crowds and for the most part tend to be able to experience a good couple of hours hastle free shopping and can actually try items on quickly instead of having to wait in huge long queues. The beauty of the "galleries"as they are known locally is that they have a wide range and variety of shops under one roof ...

The best place to shop in Glasgow

Advantages: Brilliant!
Disadvantages: A bit crowded at times

Ah, Buchanan Street! At the heart of Glasgow, it's got it all. It's definitely the place to start your shopping in Glasgow - for music, clothes, jewellery, or even a stiff drink. First off, it's a pedestrian zone, so you won't be mowed down by traffic. It is the horizontal bar of a massive H with Sauchiehall Street and Argyle Street. Between them, these three areas will satisfy even the wildest shopaholics, and I'm going to include all three in my opinion. I'm not going to include the Buchanan Galleries, the shopping centre at the corner of Buchanan and Sauchiehall. Clothes: (I'm going to stick to guy's clothes shops, since I have absolutely no help to offer for the women) Buchanan St: Diesel, USC, Foot Locker, Next, Topman, House of Fraser -- Argyle St: Gap, JJB Sports -- Sauchiehall Street: Greaves Sports, M&S For designer ...

Review of Buchanan Street

Cheap & Cheerful, but bad bacon and a toilet ghost.....

Advantages: Cheap, Fantastic Location, Room fine
Disadvantages: Noises in toilet, rather dubious breakfast

of charge. Pets are allowed on request. I booked online via www.booking.com which was a simple process. No money was taken (which actually is quite unusual as lately I?ve found places want payment before you stay there), but they did want my credit card details. Fair enough, if someone fraudulently uses my card I?ll just have to HSBC in India again! Arrival When I got to Glasgow station I realised that I didn?t actually have a clue where the hotel was, so asked someone for directions. First he directed me to the bus stop, then I told him I didn?t want a bus, I just wanted to know where Buchanan Street was! I needed to cross the road and head straight up. After 5 minutes or so I asked a girl for directions, which was convenient as it was the next turn on the right, along a bit, then turn right onto the street! I was dead ...
