Advantages: Lovely rural location, easy to get to, great food and pleasant staff.
Disadvantages: Does not take credit or debit cards and no Stella!

I only came down for the car boot sale and low and behold saw this gorgeous little eatery tucked away in the corner. This little known café has only been opened a year so everything inside is still relatively new and shiny. Situated inside the HILLSIDE NURSERIES car park, it is easy to pass this completely without realising what a little gem Alton has on offer for food... Read review

Advantages: Great coffee, nice surroundings

...Starbucks is a global coffee house chain; in fact it's the biggest coffee house company in the world. It was founded in 1971 in Seattle, Washington, and now has over 15,000 stores in 44 countries. It enjoyed a huge expansion in the 1990's which included its first chain outside North America (Tokyo in 1996) and the first UK Starbucks in 1998. As well as coffee, Starbucks sell a wide variety of beverages including Hot Chocolate, Fruit Smoothies and bottled water. They also sell snacks such as muffins, caramel shortbread as well as healthier alternatives such as yogurt and 'skinny' muffins. To me, the prices overall are a little expensive, but I pay them because no-one makes coffee like they do! I know a lot of people don't like it and they think the coffee is too sickly etc, but I do like the sweetness. I don't like black coffee so... Read review

.... Well the witch in Hansel and Gretel smiled too!. They have all been trained to lure you in under the disguise of ?Customer Service? and they further ender themselves to their returning addicts by learning exactly how to produce a high quality product so they won?t look elsewhere for their fix. They remember your name, the names of your children and partner and always ask about your weekend like an old friend. My local dealer even signs songs to his customers. They?re good ? I?ll give them that! The Venue ************* The atmosphere of any Starbucks is designed to tempt you in with it?s impossible to refuse cosy and intimate, layout. The combination of small tables and chairs with sofas and arm chairs to lounge in makes it impossible not to be sucked in. The lighting is low, the music is chilled and the decor is warm...
