Now... Let's be honest. Starbucks are the same everywhere. If you go to a Starbucks in China it'll probably be roughly the same as one in ... ...Starbucks in China? If you can shed any light on this conundrum please leave a comment letting me know). All four Starbucks are pretty much exactly the same, they contain a number of sofas which look a lot more comfortable than they actually are, mediocre coffee and are staffed by relatively polite smiling people. Now... Let's be honest. Starbucks are the same everywhere. If you go to a Starbucks in China it'll probably be roughly the same as one in Bristol (by the way does anyone know if they have Starbucks in China? If you can shed any light on this conundrum please leave a comment letting me know). Oh, and anything that isn't coffee is even more expensive, £1.50 for a small cookie, that sort of thing.
So... If you want somewhere which will be reliably clean, reliably quick and will serve reliably average coffee, go to Starbucks. Otherwise go somewhere else, find a little cafe somewhere, it'll probably be cheaper, and chances are the coffee and atmosphere will be better.
Advantages: None at all really!! Disadvantages: None here either!!
...noticed the location of either Starbucks, or Costa.
If you've seen one, then you must have saeen the other, because they face each other, with about seven feet of walkway between them. Just for the record, Costa was there first.
My partner Kaz the other day decided that maybe she'd give Starbucks another go after several bad coffee experiences (one of the down points being you can't smoke in Starbucks). She was surprised when the staff of Starbucks ... ...asked for a Mochachino. She asked what she could have instead, and the staff member lacking maybe just the smallest amount of Earl Grey upstairs told her that she could purchase a 'Chocolate Mochachino'!!
She thanked the staff member for her apparent stupidity and lack of the culinary arts of coffee, and asked if she could purchase one of these wonderfuly delightful and exotic sounding coffees.
He swiftly returned with the Chocolate Cappuchino, ...
