Odd that I would be writing a review on a coffee shop when I quite clearly can't stand the stuff. It smells nasty and tastes even worse. BUT...I love the atmosphere in coffee shops and whats more, I love hot chocolate which they always seem to do so damn well in Starbucks!
So, you can imagine ny joy at discovering one had opened in my home town Lincoln 2 weeks ago...albeit I only noticed it 5 days ago!! Lincoln unfortunatley isn't much of a sprawling metropolis and has only begun sprouting coffee shops (good ones anyway) in the last two years...we now have 4 decent ones that can boast excellent hot chocolate but Starbucks is by far the best (I am in fact more of a coffe republic kinda girl, but hey, you can't have everything).
Starbucks do a fantastic range of sandwiches and bad (translate as good but terrible for waist line) scones (Leek and Parmasan...mmmmm) cheesy pastry twist things that quite frankly are to die for and scrummy double choc muffins and a whole other range of stuff I have yet to try. Its a little pricey i.e. £3.95 for a sandwich!! That maybe the usual for bigger cities but for Lincoln a sarnie over £1.50 is extortionet!! And the CranApple at £1.50 is not cheap but its gorgeous so we can let them off!!
Big up to the guys who get up and open the store for 7.30am so I can get my morning hot choc fix on the way to work! Its only been a week but how did I ever manage before Starbucks rode into town??!! Oh...and I am sure the coffee is great...if you like that kind of thing! Eugh!
