Advantages: Lots to see and do, the metro,
Disadvantages: Eating out can be expensive, everyone else is there too (everyone loves Paris)

...anyway so it was not a big issue for me. The most fascinating thing about the Centre Pompidou is the building itself. It seems like they have turned it inside out so there are pipes, steel, escalators etc everywhere…the building stands out in other words. This area is not very far from the shopping center Les Halles and I think it is one of the few places in Paris where we felt a bit uncomfortable with our surroundings. With the crowds I guess it is an ideal place for pickpockets to operate. But there are some fun things in the area…like the colorful fountain on Place Igor Stravinsky, the public clock "Le défenseur du temps" or the Fontaine des Innocents which stands on the site of a former grave yard…I will get back to this when we talk about the catacombs. ...neighbourhood that has been renovated and is now quite rich. It’s also a great place to go. It’s just near “la place des Vosges” that has been constructed after the order of Henri the fourth. As much girls I love shopping. There are much great places to do shopping in Paris from the cheapest ones to the most expansive. Here are some of my favourite address to shop . Le Forum des Halles. It’s a great shopping complex placed on the RER A ligne . It contains at least 300 shops that sell especially clothes but also discs ,DVD ,books, make up and some cinemas . The neighbourhood surrounding that complex is great too . It’s really popular you can find lots of fast foods and of great little shops. Advantages: Tranquillity in the heart of Paris
Disadvantages: Zoo might be smelly in hot weather

...The area in Paris known as the Jardin des plantes is very tranquil and you would find it hard to believe you are in one of the major European cities of the world. In this area you will find a large park of botanical gardens and a menagerie. An ideal place to sit a while and take refreshments from the cafe, or wander around the pathways and sit for a while for a therapeutic break from the hustle and bustle of the city. I have visited here several times, at different times of the year, and even in the height of the tourist season the area was not overcrowded. The area is easily reached by several metro stations, RER and SNCF at Gare d'austerlitz and buses on routes 47 and 89.
