on collision with another car (other driver on phone) yet the airbag never went off and caused my girlfriend to hit the steering wheel- seriously bruising her chest. This was only 1 month after it had been into Ford for a full service, so make sure Ford check it.
Also to say this car had over 70000miles when purchased, i have do say it was excellent and besides the air-bag not going off, nothing at all, not even a bulb ever when wrong and we owned it 3 years.
The 1.3 engine is quite gutsy and does pull well upto town speeds, which is the home of the KA, but beware any long drives do become very annoying as the engine is noisy and not quick enough for the speeds of the motorway except in the slower lanes, unless revved really hard.
I would also recommend getting one after 1998, as reports suggest they are built much better due to early ...

I passed my test last June and that's when I purchased my car - a silver ford fiesta flight 1.3.
After wanting the newer ford models and planning to save up and buy a different car for about 6 weeks i suddenly changed my mind after realising I actually loved the car I had and would be ever so sad to see it go.
Its a brilliant first time car, the seats are comfortable, the clutch isnt heavy, the steering is light, it looks gorgeous inside when it is lit up at night. These cars are not too expensive neither, and dare I say quite reliable, my car hasnt broken down on me yet! (*touches wooden table*) Parts are relatively cheap as well as cost of transport. It will cost about 30 -35 quid (depending on the petrol prices) to fill up my car and it will last for about 2 weeks and thats with around an hours worth of driving everyday.

Advantages: cheap, easy to run, ensure and maintain, fairly nippy and has great handling. Disadvantages: No ABS, only scored 1/5 on the Euro NCAP tests and is easy to break into.
Even at 12 years old the ford KA is one of the best cars on the market, its cheap reliable and fun to drive. Given its small dimensions it is suprisingly very spacious and also handles very well due to such a narrow wheel base. With power steering standard across all Ford Ka models, the basic 1.3 engine is near perfect for driving around built up areas. Front visibility is good, but rear isnt so good, making it very hard to park. It takes some getting used to and you can often find objects are further away than they seem. Handling is good and the car has a very low centre of gravity even with its dome shape. The interior is silghtly dated but still very simple and logical. however seat height adjustment does not come in the basic model. And, ABS is not available on any of the Ford Ka models. ...
