Is there anyone in the world who hasn't heard of Starbucks? This chain of stores multiplies faster than rats, but it's not too difficult to see why. They pre-empted the coffee craze, getting their proverbial foot in the door long before the likes of Coffee Republic became well-known.

Starbucks is the epitomy of cool, with comfortable seats, soft music and an incredibly classy atmosphere despite the commercialisation of the chain as a whole. I adore this place, with one huge exception - the prices.

Even in an expensive city like London, they are astronomical. A 340ml latte costs £1.75.. but admittedly, the taste is out of this world, and the mocha frappachinos are like nothing you have ever tasted before (highly addictive, I must warn you). And before we slag Starbucks off for being too commercial, keep in mind they do support CARE, which teaches environmentally sound farming practices in Ethiopia.

If the prices came down then I would be an extremely satisfied customer, but until then, my frappachino addiction looks set to make me bankrupt.

Personally, we love the raspberry double-blended frappucino, but Starbucks all the way!

mmmm mocha frappucino mmmm. I agree 'Starbucks' is fantastic and does the best coffee ever. The coffee bars are just like the setting in 'Friends'!

The first time I tasted Starbucks was this time last year in L.A - just off Sunset Boulevard (had to get that in !) Didn't even look at the prices, it felt sooooo cool. Not quite the same sitting in a Srtarbucks in Milton Keynes or Peterborough, so the price shouldn't be the same - I'm with you girl
