Advantages: Great coffee, nice surroundings Disadvantages: Expensive
Starbucks is a global coffee house chain; in fact it's the biggest coffee house company in the world. It was founded in 1971 in Seattle, Washington, and now has over 15,000 stores in 44 countries. It enjoyed a huge expansion in the 1990's which included its first chain outside North America (Tokyo in 1996) and the first UK Starbucks in 1998.
As well as coffee, Starbucks sell a wide variety of beverages including Hot Chocolate, Fruit Smoothies and bottled water. They also sell snacks such as muffins, caramel shortbread as well as healthier alternatives such as yogurt and 'skinny' muffins. To me, the prices overall are a little expensive, but I pay them because no-one makes coffee like they do! I know a lot of people don't like it and they think the coffee is too sickly etc, but I do like the sweetness. I don't like black coffee so ...

Advantages: Addictive, costly and taking over the world Disadvantages: good coffee, good service, good selection...
a school for a community that would otherwise have none.
On an environmental impact basis, Starbucks use less packaging and recycled products wherever possible including all salad and sandwich packaging which is fully compostable. They also promote conservation in the countries where their coffee is grown coffee-growing countries.
Of course, there is the concern that more efforts could be made to promote fair trade and that much of the corporate responsibility efforts are simply an effort to look good to the users?I?m saying nothing.

Advantages: Nice sized cups of tea Disadvantages: Pricey, no comfey seats, no trays
I don't like about this particular Starbucks is that when I paid today, I had to take my cake and two cups of tea over to a different area to get milk - which I found hard to do as there seems to be a lack of trays in the store. What I did like was the size of mugs that the teas came in - a regular size comes in quite a large mug.
Price of teas seemed dear but it's probably about average, we were £4.60 for two cups of tea and one cake, although I did notice that there is a big difference in take-away price and sit in price (£1.35 to take away a cake and £1.70 to sit in).
It is a nice clean coffee shop though with a lot of staff working there who seem to know their coffees. ...
