I'll start with the food, firstly there is the buffet restaurant which is free with table service for drinks and serves;
* breakfast (complete with omelette chefs to cook them how you like it) which has ... ...consisting of cake and drinks.
* lunch, which offers hot and cold options to suit all tastes and changes daily.
* afternoon tea consisting of finger sandwiches, cake and drinks
* dinner, again hot and cold options, a good selection of deserts, Jamaican specialities and theme nights such as Mexican, Chinese, Japanese etc.
There is a beach grill which serves burgers, hot dogs etc all day and is a reservation only ... more

breakfast (complete with omelette chefs to cook them how you like it) which has traditional Jamaican, cold and hot food.
mid-morning snacks consisting of cake and drinks.
lunch, which offers hot and cold options to suit all tastes and changes daily.
afternoon tea consisting of finger sandwiches, cake and drinks
dinner, again hot and cold options, a good selection of deserts, Jamaican specialities and theme nights such as Mexican, Chinese, Japanese etc.
There is a beach grill which serves burgers, hot dogs etc all day and is a reservation only Jamaican restaurant by night, again this is free.There are then three other restaurants;
an Italian for a $10 supplement per person, which is the worst food I've ever tasted (we went to the buffet after because we'd eaten so little!).
a traditional teppanyaki, $15 supp pp, which is excellent, the food is all cooked before your eyes and is mouth-wateringly delicious. You sit round a grill seating 8 people which, if you are a small party, gets you chatting and making friends. As part of the same restaurant, for the same price, there is a sushi bar which we didn't try.
a smart a la carte restaurant (men need to wear a shirt and long trousers) which serves a range of dishes from lobster to steak and local specialities. Some meals incur a supplement of a few dollars whilst approximately half the menu is free, so if you pick wisely you could eat every night here for free. We ate here five times as the food was divine and there were no small children running around (over 14s only).
There are three bars; beachfront with nightly entertainment, lobby bar and piano bar (both overlooking the stage where the main entertainment takes place. There is also a night club which stays open until the last person leaves and has foam parties for the kids earlier on in the evening three nights a week.
This is really a hotel for families, and if you bring your kids here they will love you forever! There is an excellent kids club covering toddlers to teens, a synthetic ice rink, tennis courts, basketball courts, rock climbing wall, trampolines, pool tables, board games (in case it rains), family cinema nights (on the beachfront on a huge screen) and the icing on the cake - a circus school where they are taught gymnastics, juggling and trapeze! Each week the kids and professional put on a show and it is amazing, and also very safe.
On-site there is also a shop, a casino (with slot machines), a hairdressers, beauty parlour and jewellers.
The rooms are a reasonable size with a free mini bar, fridge, hairdryer, coffee maker and air conditioning. There is plenty of storage space for clothes but the rooms do look a bit tatty, in fact, the hotel could use a refurbishment as it looks a bit tired. However, all areas of the hotel are spotlessly clean and the staff are unbelievably friendly.
During out stay the air conditioning broke in our room overnight and we woke to find three inches of murky water in the room, we reported it and within twelve hours we were in a new room, with all of our clothes dry-cleaned (even though only a few had got wet). We were really impressed with this and the service in general in the hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay but as we don't have kids, it was a bit too family orientated for us, but when we do, we'll be back there like a shot!

a licenced taxi driver when we wanted to go out and about as hiring a car was overpriced and deposits of $1000 are not very often returned, roads are in a really bad condition and signs are non existent, we stayed at the Starfishtrelawny, the hotel is nice but it took them a week to lock the adjoining door between our room and the next room so spent a week of wedging the door shut and reporting it to reception, The entertainment was non existent at night, so most nights were spent in our room watching the tv or downloading the photos to the laptop, the internet cafe was expensive and very slow we achieved a better speed by using our laptop via our mobile phones, Food was ok but far too much salt was used in the cooking, the fresh fruit and veg was not in abundance as you would expect, and all inclusive at this resort did not quite mean all ...
