I often find modern art confusing, and this gallery was no exception. Many of the pieces on display appeared random and pointless. It is likely that someone better read in the subject than I would be able to glean some meaning from such pieces, but that is of no help to me, or anybody else with only a minimal understanding of the subject and a desire to gain enjoyment from viewing such works. The gallery owners have made little attempt to provide possible information for visitors. Each artist is given a small sign with a reasonable amount of detail about their life and work. Beyond this, however, nothing is provided. When compared to the Van Gogh, located 2 minutes walk away, which offers an audio tour and a booklet including information about each piece in addition to the various signs around the gallery, this hardly seems like enough.
Despite this, the gallery has enough bizarre offerings to make a visit worthwhile. Although many of the exhibits left me cold, I found some of the quite inspiring, and with many offers I could at least marvel at the loonacy of the artist behind the work! I will not detail the exhibits, since they are changed regularly, and the contents of the gallery never remain the same. Exhibitions on these unusual people (some of the artists on display are downright mad) make interesting viewing, and trying to interpret their eclectic and varied work is definitely a challenge. Exhibits take the form of painting, sculpture, photography, video, and other varied methods such as postcards, lists of dates and data and more.
The gallery has a nice cafe, where you can sit outside. It also has a well stocked shop, where you can buy postcards and posters of many of the exhibits. Other facilities, such as toilets and cloakroom, are present and correct.

traditionally associated with sub-zero temperatures and ice-skating.
